Snowboarding

My name is Amalia but everyone calls me by my nickname Billy. I am an eighteen-year-old snowboarder born and raised in Whistler, BC. I was first put on a snowboard at three years old and immediately fell in love. My dad was a professional snowboarder who filmed video parts in the backcountry, so I was fortunate enough to grow up surrounded by the amazing culture and community that snowboarding has created. As well, living my entire life in Whistler has allowed me to pursue every aspect of this amazing sport. I have been competing in slopestyle and big air for as long as I can remember, and I am in awe of the progression of women and can’t help but want to be a part of it!

This season has been looking a bit different, as I have been given the opportunity to film for a backcountry movie with some of the best female snowboarders called Full Moon. I just spent January filming in Japan, and I can see an amazing career in the backcountry as well as filming, and I am excited to see what’s to come. I have many goals within the sport, many personal and many community-based. I hope to inspire girls and females to chase their dreams and remember that everything and anything is possible. I am very thankful to OSI for helping to provide me with the tools and opportunities to continue to chase my goals and make my dreams a reality.
